Do-it-yourself blueing
I have a TAPCO FAL kit that's in good condition overall. The bore is beautiful, but the finish is gone on most of the metal parts. I'd like to reblue the barrel and I'm thinking about using a cold blue kit I saw at Turner's. Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they any good? Here's a dumb question, can I spray paint it? Thanks!

I have not heard of the brand to which you refer, I have however used a product from the Brownells.com catalog called Dicropan which is a cold blue. It depends on the results you want to acheive. With a lot of care and prep, the job with cold blue may be okay, but for the richer, more professional job see a smith that does hot dip bluing, o possibly someone who parkerizes guns.
Cheap usually ends up looking cheap!0 -
I think this was an accidental double listing of this topic, look for the other one to list please.
