SPRINGFIELD SCOPES????
I am trying to get a Springfield 4-14x56 Scope for my M1A, with a 3rd generation 2 point scope mount, but I see a lot of nay-sayers on these boards in regard to Springfields scopes. What exactly is it that they do wrong? Do they fail to hold zero? Won't they line up right? I believe I can get a SA Scope for $350-$400 for the 4-14x56 off another auction but if the scope is truly no good I will pass. But on the other hand I would like to know why it should be passed.

The reticle fell out on one.
The replacement would not hold a zero.

Only saw one being used at my gun club. The individual using it had it mounted on a .22-250. After firing approximately 15 rounds, he stopped shooting and he came walking down toward my bench. The conversation began by him stating that the reticle had just fallen out of his Springfield scope. 0 -
Thanks to cpermd & sjc1, as well as Will270Win on The General Discussion Board who informed me that they not only don't hold zero well, or at all, and that you lose clarity when you dial them up. What's the point in having a scope that isn't clear? Also the thing that you guys mentioned with the reticle falling out seems to be a real frequent problem with Springfield Scopes.
You guys just saved me from a $400 mistake.
Many Thanks Again!
