Capt., I have a great deal of respect for you as a moderator and contributer to the forums, but it is entirely possible that this ammo is worth far more than $0.10 a round on the collector market. It depends on the loading, condition and several other factors, but some of it brings as much as $40 a round, "depending."

OK guys, here is the markings as best I can show you.

    A 0371

    15 kpl.

    7,92 kiv.patr.

    i. sid.

    luoti: D-

    Hylsy: mh

    Alkupera: saksal.

    Tarkastettu: AV 1/43

These are the original cardboard boxes with a white paper label. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if I have anything good here so I don't let them go with the 8mm mauser with the Nazi eagles I am selling. Condition is about 50% with matching numbers. I was told by an "expert" ? that it is worth between $350-$600 depending on condition.

Input on the gun price is greatly appreciated if anyone knows better. I am a new technology guy, and know very little about the old stuff. It is a Mod98 carbine. With CG (I think) on the receiver top. I was told it was made by J.P. sauer. It also has rack number s/s 109 on the stock.

    Thanks guys.

If you truly have a Gewehr 98 carbine, that is a Kar98a or b or similar weapon, of circa WW1 vintage, the price sounds right. If you have a 98 short rifle, that is the 98k as issued in WW2, then the lower figure would be pushing top end, even with all matching, excellant shape, with Waffenampts. Most I've seen are running in the $125+ range for 50%.

JustC, the verbiage doesn't look like German to me. More like Finnish? If you can send me a scan / pic (you have my address) I may be able to help you more. Bottom line, you won't get much more, if anything, on the deal by including the ammo w/ the rifle. If these are WW2 Finnish loads for the 7.92x57, they sure as hell are worth more than German ball ammo!

Let me know if these bullets turn out to be 8x56. They would probably be marked M31. Thanks
