Actually it is a PA63. They are made by FEG and yes most people find them to be a very well made gun. The design is basically that of a Walther PP.

    For IrarmSX,

Hey thanks for the answer. Do you have any idea what a good price for a new one would be? I was at a recent gun show and a broker wanted about $165. I have seen them in Shotgun News for $100 but I understand that that is the FFL price (I don't have one) and or price for used ones.

    Thanks

Thats way to much, I think you can get them from SOG Int. for under $100. I'm about to get two bulgarian makarovs from SOG with holsters and extra mags for $99 each.

The PA-68 is a great gun, however they do have on hellacious DA trigger pull, and they kick like mules, but you'd be stuperfied by their accuracy. I've never seen such an inexpensive gun so accurate.

I personally love the makarovs though, I want to get an East German, but I'll have to wait.

I got a buddy who has bulgarian, a russian, and a PA-68, and they are all super nice, he's the one that convinved me to get one. Once you actually get to get a feel for them, you realize how much of a bargin they really are.

PA 63 is right. I carry one as an off duty weapon. Qualified with it and it does shoot well. It will shoot makarov ball ammo only.
For some reason it will only allow me to put 2 rounds of hollow point ammo on top of 5 rounds of ball. Tried to load up full with hollow points and they jam in the mag. I paid $90.00 for mine with extra mag, cleaning rod, and holster. I have an FFL so that helped. The double action is a bear though.

    For Leeblackman,

Thanks for the response. Are those prices for new guns??? I tried to order a Bulgarian from SOG and they said they wouldn't have any in until June. I ordered one anyway. J&G Sales has the PA-63's for about $100. I wonder if they are new. I'll have to give them a call. This is great info. Thanks

    For Harley96,

You qualified with it??? Must be an okay gun. I used to carry a Manurhin .380 as an off duty gun when I was an LEO (disability took me out big time). I may just have to get both. Thanks a million

I've been told the old "Thats the dealer price" line about the advertisements in Shotgun News alot. But thats a crock. If a dealer tells you that then he ain't worth dealin with. A good dealer will give you a form to send and tell you how to order it, then charge you $10 for using his liscence, or do it free if ya buy something from him.

You'd have to ask the sales rep at SOG whether or not they are new. I usually always pay the extra $10 fee for handselect. I tell them I'm not interested in matching serial #'s, I want a shooter.

    Leeblackman,
Hey thanks. You just saved me a bunch of money. I belong to the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance and our gunsmith has an FFL and said he would do that for me.
I called J& G Sales out in Arizona and they have no more Makarovs or PA-63s. The lady told me they expect more near the end of May. When asked if new or not, she said they were close to new. Again thanks. I am off to contact SOG!
