If You have removed the striker spring keeper and follower and the striker spring, there is only to drive the pin out of the cap, it can be balky, I suggest a short starter punch to start the pin and then a standard punch to finish removal.I think Win. Loctites the pin , so some heat may aid in the removal but be careful to not overheat and ruin the blue. You may not have a problem with the bolt, the trigger may have been tampered with,if too much metal is removed in stoning or improper adjustment has occurred, the safety will not engage.

thanks.. with your inspiration i tackled it again and after getting the firing pin and spring off i tapped out the pin that holds the end cap ( i don't know if that is the proper name for it) on at the very rear of the bolt.. the pin was bent in a U shape, it appears if someone replace the original with a small 4 penny nail chrome colored..
with the pin out the safety works like a charm.. need to order another pin and hope i get it back together again.
