Scope for 41 mag Ruger
Can anyone tell a decent scope and mount for my Blackhawk for Deer hunting that wont break the bank. I only paid 250 for it used and I dont want to spend that much on the scope ,mount and mounting. How about an electronic dot sight ? People at the gun shop told me they dont hold up well under heavy recoil, but I have a feeling that they just want to sell me some over priced setup. Any help would be appreciated.

Pick up a used 2x leupold (about $150) and it will hold up to the 41 mag. For deer size game and handgun ranges it's all the glass you need. By the way I think the 41 is a great choice--shoots flatter than a 44, hits as hard, and recoils less. Good luck and good hunting. 0 -
If you are looking for a red dot. The ONLY one it get is an Ultra Dot.
They have a lifetime warenty.
They come in 1" or 30mm tubes. are a little over 5 inches long.
They come with rings to mount on a Weaver style base. Even come with batteries.
Check out www.larrysguns.com The one inch is on sale for $115 and they offer free shipping.0 -
lazywallrus: Having used several different scopes and reddot sights on Ruger handguns now for several years in 44 mag and heavy loads in 45lc I would like to suggest you take a very long look at a Bushnell Holosight. I know they cost more than a typical reddot but the nice they about them is you are not looking throught a tube so you have unlimited sighting so to speak , you don't get any shadows and you don't have the problem of trying to see through that dark tube in the early mornings
if you, can try and find some one that has a holosight and try it out before you buy some thing else, they really are worth the exact money
hope this helps good luck0 -
