is there a standard that all manufactures used when installing pins and dovetails on firearms. what i'm trying to get at is when removing them as you sight down the barrel are they all removed from left to right or right to left or does one just experiment. bang on it one way and then try it the other.. any suggestions.

  THERE IS NO STANDARD THAT I KNOW OF, MOST ARE REMOVED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ECEPT SOME SAVAGES AND MOST H&R SINGLE SHOTS (AND A FEW OTHERS).
