THE SERIAL # RANGE INDICATES MADE IN 1945 BY COLT, TO BE COMPLETE THE SLIDE WILL HAVE TO ALSO SAY COLT MFG CO ON THE LEFT SIDE WITH PATENT DATES & HORSE LOGO, IF NOT, THEN IT'S MISSED MATCHED WITH SOME OTHER MFG, IF IT HAS ALL THE ORIGINIAL PARTS, 650.00 TO 1000.00, BUT CONDITION IS IMPORTANT IN THE PRICE. IF IT'S MISSED MATCHED, VALUE DROPS VERY MUCH.

The easiest way to determine original finish is to examine the GHD and the ordinance wheel on the right side of the frame for burnishing. These markings were applied after the gun was finished, so, if you look at them with a 10X magnifier, you will see burnishing, or unfinished steel, inside parts of the markings where the die rubbed away the parkerizing.

I believe that the barrel should be blue with P on the lug, and "COLT" stamped on the bottom near the lug, but several different barrels are possible.
