Bushnell Holosight 2 ---any good ?
Bushnell has a new sight called holosight 2, has any one used it and
how does it work. Better than a red dot ? Plan to get one for a
Marlin 1894 .44 Mag because it would clear the hammer etc. But before
I spend $249.99 would like to get some imput plus or minus. Thanks...

Holosights are the greatest thing since sliced bread!! They have 1MOA dots compared to the other red dot sights of 4,5,6,7 MOA!! Once you look thru a Holosight and then look thru another dot sight you'll know why you'll spend a little more for the holosights. I shoot xp-100's in 7mmBR with holosights and regularly kill groundhogs 200+yds. Longest measured with witnesses 376!! I think they would work exceptionally well on short range handguns or shotguns foturkey hunting although I haven't tried that yet! If you look around you can find them cheaper than what you have stated. I am partial to the Holosight 1 with "STANDARD RETICLE". The standard reticle is the 1Moa dot surrounded by a circle of dots. I also have a Holosight 2 with the 1MOA dot. They both work fine but the Holosight 1's fit my xp holsters better! GHD 0 -
I HAVE ONE AND LOVE IT,I ALSO HAVE THE TASCO OPTAMA 2000 IT COST LESS AROUND 150 AND IS SMALLER THAT I USE ON MY COLT .I HAVE ONLY HAD THE BUSHNEL FOR ONE SEASON BUT LOVE IT,THE TASCO I HAVE HAD 3 YEARS AND STILL AM USING THE SAME BATTERYS NO TROUBLE WITH ETHER ONE
THESE ARE SO MUCH NICER THEN A RED DOT SIGHT ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE0 -

I really wish they hadn't quit making the holosight one, I really liked the way they looked better than the holosight two.

I have the Holo Sight 2 on my M17s it is better than peanutbutter and jelly. 0 -
I wing shoot with mine during duck season and love on my shotgun. Its alot of fun on asault weapons to. Fast target aquisition helps you stay on the paper will firing fast. 0 -
Jeanders: I have 4 holosights, 2 of which are the newer holosight 2, of these one has been on my ruger super redhawk in 454 , its held up just fine and is even doing ok on my ruger 480 now ( sold the 454 and replaced it with the 480 ) of the other 2 holosights, these are on a T/C Encore in 50 cal and the other, on my rem 870 12 ga turkey,, no problems with any of them,,, great sights but I do like the early ones better 0
