Need thumbhole sporter stock
Now that you gentlemen have kindly pushed me toward a 223, 22-250, 220 swift etc. I need to know if anyone knows where I might locate a good but not break my pocketbook thumbhole sporter stock for short action, Howa, Savage, and or Remington actions?

I haven't bought from these guys but I came across this website. http://www.reamerrentals.com/stocks.htm
They have some impressive stocks, it looks like they come inletted for your action but you have to finish them yourself.0 -
Haven't used this company myself, but a friend swears by them. He just bought a beautiful laminated thumbhole stock for a Model 70. You may want to give them a look. www.wenig.com

you may also want to take a look at a company by the name of FAJEN. I have seen some nice laminated stocks from them, and IMHO, the prices were comfortable.
When in doubt...empty the magazine!!0 -
Just for info--Fajen went bye-bye a year or two ago. Boyd's continued some of their designs, and is your best bet. I currently have several of their thumbhole laminated models in my shop being fitted and they're O.K. 0
