If weight is not a major consideration I would seriously consider the Para L14-40 LDA or L12-45 LDA. Relativly small, Factory 10 round with the avail of pre-ban high caps from a full size as extra mags, reliable, accurate but no lightweeight at 35 oz.

If size, weight and cost are major concerns get a KelTec P-11 AND a KelTec P-32 backup/pocket pistol for almost or less than the same money as your choices of Ruger, Beretta or Glock.

I have friends and relatives who were looking at the same guns you are. I recommended the Sig P220 or P226 (I have a P220). One got the Glock 23, another got a 92FS, etc. just to be different. Well, they get a constant reminder everytime we go to the range that they should have bought the Sig. It just feels and shoots better. Add a IWB holster like a Kramer and you can't tell it's there. Along with the Sigs, take a look at the compact Para's and Kimbers. All mfr's previously mentioned are fine weapons so you should pick each one up and test drive each before you make your decision. If in the end the Ruger feels and shoots the best, then that's the best one for you. GD

I have carried a Beretta 92 FS for about a year now. Yes i know some people say that it's too big to carry but i like the gun and the first round is double action so that lowers the chance of firing by mistake.

Look at the Sig P229 in .40, you can get a .357 drop in barrel. Great gun.

I have just gone with the model 30 Glock 45 acp, and am please with it. It requires a holster, but is a lot in a small package.

If money is an issue, get a Keltec 9mm or 32. It's very light and powerful

If not, get a Glock 36. It has the most punch, and is easily concealable.

    Other compacts to look at:
    Kahr P40
    Glock 30
    Taurus 617 357mag
    S&W Airlite

These last two are EXTREMELY light. You'll forget you're carrying.

I recently bought a kel-tec 32,I love it I keep it in a pocket pouch. It stays with me from when I wake up until I goto bed.some say the 32 is too small, but you will take it every where instead of leaving it at home.

    Glock model 27 (.40 S&W) or model 36 ( .45 ACP).
