Hello I was hopeful someone would know a proper description of this Remington barrel. Its 26" long.

    Its marked:

Remington Arms Co Inc Remington ILION Works ILION
NY Made In USA Patented Feb 3 1903 and May 16 1905

On the sides near the threaded area it is marked

    IMP CYL

Other side has a circle and inside is R.E.P.

Bottom where I assume it fastens or sits in the stock it has a small heart shaped symbol and a S

Thanks for your help I plan on listing it cheap as I have no need for this and I figure one of you all may be needing it. This has been kicking around our house forever and we arent sure where it came from.

If this is a Mohawk 48 it is a follow on to the 11-48. They were made from 1970 to 1974. Total production 55,610 in 12 and 20 ga. The 11-48 barrels should fit but only the later 11-48's had interchangable barrels so be careful.

remroc is correct on the 11-48 being the bbl. Problem you run into, you can buy a good used inexpensive pump shotgun for what a good 11-48 bbl will bring (assuming you can find one).

REMROC, YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR DATES OF MGF.REM QUITE MAKING THE 11/48 AND THE MOHAWK 48 IN THE MID 50'S

Where did you get this info Mike Wiskey? My 1968 Remington catalog lists the 11-48. This is also confirmed by the Blue Book. The Mohawk 48 was never in the catalog but my info came from the current issue of the Remington Society Journal.

The Remington Society of America has a website: www.remingtonsociety.com. I believe they have membership info which includes the quarterly issues of the "Journal".

remroc, you are right. 11/48 was mgf. to 1968. i was thinking of the m-11. still cann't figure out why they would make both the 11/48 and the 1100 at the same time though.
