Oh, man! NOBODY sells a 338 BAR! I've shot a million rifles and this is the only one I take for deer, bear and hogs, along with a Siamese 45-70 with open sights with HOT loads for when it snows or rains. It's a Safari II with BOSS, The most comfortable, prettiest, all-around killing machine I've ever seen!
I'll bet GHD would toss out his 25-06s if he ever shot one of these.

I don't think you ought to sell if you don't absolutely have to!! As far as a flat shooting, low recoil, low cost of ammo goes along with great accuracy it would be hard to beat a 223 for varmint sized critters out to 300-400 yds. But if I thought I would be shooting them at longer ranges I'd like the extra punch of a 22-250. A little more noise, not much more recoil and a little more expensive to load for but not much!! It can reach out there farther and have more left whent it gets there. Also accuracy is not a concern as a bad shooting 22-250 is a rarity!! The 25-06 is a long range capable caliber but it is definitly more recoil and more expensive to load for!! I am very fond of 22-250 and 25-06 calibers. As I have stated on here before I think they are the two most amazing calibers we have available. My choice for a rifle would be a 700 Remington in whatever configuration you choose. You could get a standard weight barrel or the 700Varmint with the heavy barrel if you're going to be shooting a lot(like in a prairie dog town). All three calibers are available in the 700's. Let us know what you choose. GHD

i just bought a ruger m77 mk2 target 220 swift, it shoots great...if you handload you can load it from .223 loads to above 22-250 loads..when the swift first came out there was talk about throat errosion..that is not really too much of a problem anymore with todays modern powders, non corrosive primers and stronger barrels..the K Mart here carries ammo for it, it sells for around $19 a box of 20
