    Value wise, you're pretty close. Personally I prefer a .357 to a .32.
If you're tired of the 19 and like the .32, go for it. It's your
    choice. I like the signature.

The two guns may compare in value, but the Smith 19 is a heck of a lot easier to trade than the .32 Walther. The 19 is much more desireable. Walther 32's are darned good guns, but very few people want them.

If you make the trade, see if he has extra magazines he will throw in the deal. Factory Walther 32 mags are worth $25 or more.

This depends on your requirements. The Walther is certainly more concealable and easier to carry, but at a sacrifice in power. The S&W 19 is pretty versatile because of the .38/.357 ammo interchangeability and all the many loadings of both that are available. My choice would be the S&W.

Well the trade is pretty much a done deal. One motivator that I did not mention, is that I have used the SW as my carry gun for a number of years. I recently bought a Springfield XD-40 to replace it with. Almost identical in size, much more firepower in terms of capacity. As for the revolver, I am much more of a semi auto kind of guy. They by far comprise the largest percentage of my collection. Thanks to all of you for the input.
Lastly while the Walther might not be as popular in terms of caliber, and manufacture, it does have a following in this area that thinks they are great. Even a clunker will bring good return.
