I like them as much as their big brother the 700. They are very accurate rifles with strong actions and great factory triggers. Might I suggest something along the lines of .260rem or 7mm-08rem? Great standard action calibers which are inherently accurate and mild recoiled for foxes on up to mule deer or bigger depending on range of target.

I just picked up my .260 MtDm. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but love the feel and look. It is very light and quick handling.

Two friends of mine got them one was a 260 and the other was a 25-06 both of them right out of the box shot 1" gropes at 100 yards with the first hand loads, I'm sure they will get better with difernt loads, I am thinking of one in 7mm-08. 0 -
I have a Mtn. Rifle in .280. I thought it was pretty accurate. I love to accurize things...I was told NOT to full length free-float the barrel because of the pressure point toward the front of the forearm. Well...being the daring guy that I am, I free-floated the barrel anyway. What a difference it made. I was shooting 1" groups (before, they were 1 1/2" t0 2". I also squared up the bolt lugs. the trigger was nice and crisp out of the box. Next, I am considering bedding the action. ...BUT... I do find that, after free floating the barrel, when I shoot more than 5 or 6 rounds fairly quickly (barrel getting HOT) that accuracy deminishes somewhat. Well, it's a hunting rifle and rarely do I need to make a second or third shot anyway. As long as I shoot 3 or 4 shots and let the barrel cool....VERY ACCURATE!
I love it.

I bought myself the Remington 260 Mountain Rifle DM for Deer season here in Alberta. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to use it, Yet I mounted a 5 - 15 x 40 Bushnell 3200 series scope. Perfect setup. I love it.
