Info on 22. repeaters

I am interested an purchasing a 22. caliber pistol. I am much anticapting the rlease of the Walther p22 in california but do to the liberal bastards that run this state im not allowed currently to purchase one. Any other sugestions on 22's.I dont like the rugers they look like shit. I know there exceptional pieces or machinery but in my eyes i could crap out a finer looking piece of machinery.   I have a S&W 422. Don't see them much anymore but I do run across them at gun shows every now and then. Wouldn't trade mine for any of the rugers.
