Ithaca model 37 question
I have an Ithaca model 37 on auction right now, Item #3670382, which belongs to a friend of the family. I have had a few e-mails asking if it has been reconditioned, and about the ventilated rib. The serial number is 55637 which dates it to just pre-war or there abouts. How can I tell if it has in fact been reconditioned. The owner was an avid collector. Usually did not have any "junk" collected. The bluing does not seem to be of reconditioned nature, meaning colors seem to match every where they should match. If anyone could take a look see, and let me know, I would appreciate the help very much. You can reply here, or to me direct at tsm849@aol.com.

I had a 37 ,26 years ago took care of it, the bluing was fine, just like other guns... The best thing you can say, is not to your knowledge, if you do not know. 0 -
Sir:I have an old Ithaca 37 Supream Trap that was made just after WW2. These old guns have a different barrel to receiver thread then the newer ones(not sure of the switch over date). Tne reason I'm telling you this is because I tried to get a new barrel for it and the gunsmith asked if it had been recondition for a new barrel. This may be what your costumer is asking about? Hope this helps.
