Mini 14 - factory folder
Guys,
Several years ago I bought a stainless steel mini 14 with a factory folder on it from a freind of mine. The only problem is that he spray painted a camo job on it. It looks really cool and suits me just fine. But as the paint wears on it should I touch up the paint job or should I try to take it back to the original finish by removing all of the paint in order to enhance the value? How would I remove standard spray paint without damaging the original stock finish?

Anything that you use to remove the oil base paint will also remove the oil base on the wooden stock. You can remove the metal folding stock from the wood. remove the paint from the metal. I feel that the stripping of the Ruger stock and restain with a natural look is much better any way. My 2 cents 0 -
DITTO. That's really the only way to do it so you get back the natural wood finish. GD 0
