Side x Side offered in 12 Gauge only..Double Triggers, Light Engraving on Some and Fancy on Others. Boxlock...Steel Barrels and Damascus Barrels offered..In Shooting Condition...$300.00 to $325.00 for Steel Barreled and $50.00 less for Damascus..I'm surprised that this Shotgun was only in 12Ga., but thats what I'm showing in the database...Best....

I have since taken my gun out at have all the info. I appreciate your input as since I have left the inquiry I have searched else where. It is a Bayard Garanturt Bechutes Pieper'sches Stalkammerstubeck that is on the stock the Barrell reads Amtlich Vieneach Gernueft u FINGESCHOSSEN

since it is quite orriginal and still has the blue steel I have been given quite a bit higher cash value with no intent to purchase. If at all intersted in replying with a more realistic value and less minimizing worth the feel free to email.. Also you are in err in the only guage that Bayard produced there guns. Much Thanks

Also, I have since discovered the markings inside the bareells denoting a 16 Guage try your sources again. Bayard even though an underestimated cullinaator of steel was not yet noted as such and believed to be the basis that remington and others were formed...look at his hand guns

Talk about a trap!
First you ask about a Belgian gun and give only a name as information. Now you give a lecture to an honest gentleman who was totally correct (and even a bit high on quoted value) given the information he had to work with.
Most Belgian guns stamped with "Bayard"/ "Baynard" are typical clunkers. Cobby stocks, poor fit and finish, and cheap components.
For those guns a price of over $200.00 is a windfall no matter what condition they're in.
Your gun... Our crystal ball couldn't detect what you've now shared. Piepher made some really nice guns, but it was a fact that you kept well hidden. Why tell us to go back to our references when it's you who didn't give us a fair break?
Though I hope the gun is worth what you've been quoted (or your further research has shown), my feeling is that the first answer to your question is much more correct than you know. I speak for many when I tell you that with certain exceptions such as the FN Brownings, getting me to be interested in a Belgian gun would be nearly impossible. Tell me anything you want about the piece and I'll probably agree. Ask me to make an offer and I won't be the least bit interested no matter what. Too much junk was made by the same company that produced your gem.
...And that's why the value really isn't there in most instances! Brownings would have done the same if their name appeared on a line of cheap clunkers.
Oh, one more thing... I doubt the Remington's much needed Bayard to base their ideas on. And Mr. Winchester was involved in shirt sales, not firearms. He was smart enough to employ a couple of unknowns by the name of Henry and Browning. Rumor has it that he did rather well!
