    This'll have to do untill someone sharper, that might know significance of the numbers possibly, comes along,....but, the "WD" is British, for War Dept. and the "tree" you mention is actually a "broad arrow" marking.
    The thing is most likely for a Martini, weather it be for the earlier 577/450's, or for the converted and rebarreled 303"s can be better determined by the barrel fitting section diameter.
    The big 577/450's took both blade and triangle jobs. I'll hang way out there and say that I think the 303's never took blades, EXCEPT, the shorter Metford model bay. (Not looooong blades, like the big one)
