Colt A3 & A2

I just bought a colt match target competition H-BAR II. Could someone tell me how to identify and a3 or a2, etc. And how do they relate to the ban if at all? Any additional comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

  Your rifle has a flat top upper with a removable carry handle.
  The flat top makes it an A3. An A2 would have an integral carry handle, i.e., non-removable.
