A long-recoil operated shotgun similar but not identical to the Browning Auto-5. Made throughout the early to mid 1950's.

No collector value, and in the condition you describe it has a realistic resale of about $200-$225.

With this particular shotgun, pay close attention to the positioning of the friction piece and the recoil spring under the forearm. Many malfunctions can be solved by using the correct positioning for heavy or light loads. Also, these shotguns are very prone to developing cracks along the bottom of the forend from not having the barrel retaining nut tight, or lubricating the outside of the mag tube (DONT do that).

Allow me to second both opinions. The "good book" sats one thing, but reality is quite another.

In some areas of the country the value of these A-5 clones has increased at about the same rate as the A-5's, themselves. They seem to hold within a few dollars of half that of a similar Browning.

That said... Good shooters! Probably never a real collectors item.
