Rock Island model 1911
My brother-in-law is looking for a .45 in a 1911 style. He has asked me about a Rock Island Model 1911 in .45 caliber around $390.00 new. To be honest, I am not qualified to realy comment. However, there are many members to this site that may be able to help.
He will most likely shoot less than a 100 rounds on weekends and this will be maybe 10/12 weekends per year best guess.
Please coment as to your knowledge of this make and model. Many thanks in advance!

Not sure about brand you mentioned.
But, My Charles Daley was in the same price range.
I bought to convert to 45Super and it does well
with either. IMHO good gun for the bucks.

Simular in quality to the Norinco or Charles Daley 1911's. A fair quality, no frills base gun. Used price in very good shape is $275 to $325.

You can buy a used colt in that price range, I would take the Colt. They will always have better resale value. 0 -
Isn't this Rock Island stuff from the Philippines? I would suspect they're quality, if that's true! Like martzkj said "get a Colt"! Good Luck! ...Mark
