    I presume this is an A-5 semi-auto? Trying to find the exact date on these early Browning's is very difficult....If it was FN & Browning produced....about 1924-25If it was through Browning....1934-35(from "Browning Sporting Arms of Distinction" by Matt Eastman)

    I was told it's an A-1 and yes it's a semi-auto if that helps. It was my Grandfathers. There are some marks and numbers with symbols and a crown on the barrel.
