I believe there was a time when 18" barrels were available.

The older models did have an 18 1/2" barrel. Not sure what year they changed to 20" but would guess about 5 years ago.

Are the "old" 18-18.5" barrels as accurate
as the "new" 20" barrels in the 7mm-08...
if not sure, what would you guess ????????

    thanks coon

You are probably from Louisiana if:
    1) You've ever worn shorts at christmas time.
    2) You learned to drive a boat before you could drive a car.
    3) You can name all your 3rd cousins.
    4) You plan your wedding around hunting season and LSU football.
    5) stay tune more to come.......

I own the same thing. Model 7 youth in 7mm/08 I bought in 93 and it has the shorter everything. I didn't know that they lengthened the youth model. The shorter stock is especially handy when I have to get around a bulky winter coat to get a shot on game.
