Not remembering just which one you had, I checked Stroeble's book on old gun sites, and looked at the old 1a site. Came in three variations and list for $100-$350! I will write down your number and see what it goes for.

Pabooger, first off, I am no expert on this, just a guy with a book who is willing to try to help. If you are planning to do any buying or selling, you should get a better read. It appears that the DA is not a Lyman scope model. It is a designation code denoting which make and model of rifle it was made for. In this case it seems to have been made for a Win. model 1894 in various calibers, depending upon the model of site. DA was used as a designation in the 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 15, 101, 102, 29, 19-1.2, 30-1/2, 103, 52, 43 and 44 tang sites which seems to eliminate yours. It was also used for the model 21 receiver site (same rifle, in .25-35, .30-30, .32 special, and the Models 55 and 64 rifles). Used again for the model 22 receiver site for Mannlicher sprting rifles and for the 38 receiver site again for Win. models. The values given are 21-$175-$300, 38-$200-450, 22-$150-$250. No explanation is given for the price ranges, but one assumes that condition and completeness would be the main factors in a $200 spread of value. To nail it down further your probably either need a real expert or to buy the book (Old Gunsites, A Collectors Guide, 1850-1965 by Nick Stroebel Krause Publications-I think they have it on sale now for about $15. Hope this helps. He Dog

Ok thanks, mine is a model 21. Glad I didn't get rid of it. It's on a 1920 30/30 saddle ring carbine, and thats where it will stay.
Thanks much for your input. As always it is greatly appreciated!!
