Another bit O' advice.... Throw it away. The J-22 I have is a piece of trash. It jams every round and sometimes fires 3 round burst with one pull. I had a gunsmith check it out and teak it a bit... Got it to fire one clip... then jammed every time after.

Maybe yours is different, but you'd be one of the few.

I had a jennings once, the third round blew the extractor out the side of the gun. I took it back to the dealer and bought the used AMT BACKUP.

    Thanks, Grizztribefans@sssnet.com

Gents--I'd have to give a qualifed second azgunnut2's opinion. By a rather strange set of circumstances I own 3 of them--one black and two chrome. They were all purchased in the early to middle '80s, and all are reliable and reasonably accurate for what they are. It may well be that they have further cheapened the product (is that possible?) and the newer ones aren't as good, and quite frankly I don't care too much for the Jennings breed as a whole; but perhaps the older ones were better.

I think you may be on to something Der Gerb.

Everyone I know WHO HAS COMPLAINED about them (including me) bought theirs post 1995.

Maybe they did have a drop in quality sometime in the 90's.

Hey, what "brand" is yours? I know they're Jennings, but are they Bryco pistols? Were they two companies and merged or were they always like that?

I have a recently made jennings, brushed crome. I bought it gently used, and it jammed every other shot. Took it apart, and cleaned it well. The factory had left some burrs and other rough spots on it. After less than an hour of cleaning, and honing It works great, a bang every shot, not that you can hit what your aiming at, but it was alot cheaper than my mk2.
