While I don't use that particular powder for .357 mag. I think I can answer your question with a generalization. When you see load velocities developed and chronographed in test barrels they will almost always have a higher velocity. This is because a test barrel is a single shot, closed breech mechanism something like a small cannon. There is no escape of gas or loss of power through the barrel-cylinder gap as with a revolver. Some manuals will list a particular gun in which the load was tested, and the results will usually be significantly lower than if fired in a test barrel. The reason for using a test barrel is that it also measures pressure when the cartridge is fired. So even though the velocity is shown as being higher it should be safe for your gun.

der. i thank you for your effort, but, ( do not take this as a snotty comment, for it is NOT my intent ) that wasnt my question. i was just looking for other private shooters' results using this recipe in comparison to what the companies show. i realize test bbls will give numbers higher than actual production guns unless vented to account for cylinder gap & jump. i have no excuse for not owning a chrony myself, but, its 1 fault im going to cure. i shoulda had 1 years ago..thanks again and take care.....anyone else?

It also lists 110gr JHP with 16gr of Blue dot @ 2040fps believe me it feels and sounds like 4000fps! Best load is the 125 gr JHP with 21.0 gr of 2400, approx 1715 fps and ~815 fps best man stopper known to date! Just ask the FBI, and all them other folks who do tests like that.My .02

al57, I have used b. for alot of loads and in my .357 I have used 13.0 gr and it is a max load but is only in the mid 1300's to get over 14 my data says you have to drop to a 150gr bullet. That 13.0 is a handfull (4" gp 100) when it goes boom people look
Remember,"your woman may not find you handsome, But atleast she'll find ya handy". I love that show..............
