I'm NOT a big fan of Redfield scopes! The ones I've deal with always "feel" like they were dipped in sand before assembly. That and when your trying to adjust there scope, it doesn't seem very responsive, so you have to "walk" the scope to zero. I'll take a Leupold any day! My 2 cents, Good Luck! ...Mark

Thanks guys. If the Redfields are Jappers, I shall buy a Burris or a Leupold.

Hey Bill, I own 6 leuoples scopes and I do a lot of shooting with Mag Rifles and have found that they will hold togeather for about 200 rounds, and then I send them in for repairs and they come back with in a week and a half. no questions asked. In the past year I have had 4 go bad. I am on a fixed income and refuse to pay over a $1000.00 for a scope, I am now trying out B&L scopes, have not tryed them enough to see if they are any better. GOOD LUCK

Chuck give the Burris a try. Schmidt and Bender are a little rich for my budget too, but the Burris scopes are really good for their price.

I have 4 burris,(3 signatures, 1 compact), & 3 leupold var-x III. the leupold are more compact,& lighter, but the burris's are a lot clearer/brighter. The problem seems to be that people don't focus scopes for THERE EYES when they install them. You should go to a store & look thru them both-buy the one that makes you happy.

Hey He Dog I got a burris had to send it back for repairs, went bad on a 338 Mag, they repaired it free of charge, took 3 weeks to get it back, have not put it on any thing yet, so don't know if it is fixed or not.
