SHOTGUN SCOPE
I HAVE A WINCHESTER 12 GA. WITH CANTILEVER RIFLED BARREL. I AM GOING TO MOUNT A BUSHNELL 2X7 ELITE SCOPE ON IT. WHAT RINGS SHOULD I USE? I HAVE HEARD THAT LEUPOLD AND BURRIS SIGNITURE MAKE GOOD RINGS. I WANT THE BEST SINCE THIS IS A SHOT GUN. IT WILL BE USED FOR HUNTING DEER!

Hello im looking for a cheaper scope $100.00 to about $130.00 to put on top of a new england firearms deluxe ultra slug hunter with the heavy barrel. It is a 12 gauge. I need somthing cheap but will with stand the recoil from a 12 ga. Bushnell, simmons, etc...give me some advice... 0 -
sounds like you are on the right track either ring will do a very good job, stay away from the tasco on a heavy recoiling gun like yours , also i would not use a weaver because they are a pain to use because they like to turn your scope as you tighten up the screws which makes it very hard to keep your cross hairs straight , hope this helps 0 -
I hope the scope you're planning to mount has at least 4 inches of eye relief (and 5 is better). If it doesn't, you'll likely be quickly unhappy - a couple of rounds with the scope hitting your eyebrow will probably be enough. After I realized that 3 inch eye relief rifle scopes won't work I got a Bushnell Banner 3-9 X 40 shotgun scope which lasted about 2 years (maybe 120 rounds) before it fell apart. I now use a BSA Catseye 3-9 X 44. Plenty of eye relief and still going strong after the 2 year/120 round mark. Good luck. 0
