Volunteer Arms/Commando Arms question
These Thompson look-alikes used to be made in Knoxville, TN. If I remember correctly, the 9mm used Sten magazines. Can anyone tell me what magazine the .45 version used?

I had one several years ago and it used a M-3 "grease gun" magazine, 0 -
Correct. 0 -
There were two variations of the Commando. One had a metal lower frame the other a polymer one. One of them took the grease gun mag, the other took a Thompson mag. So yes, one was designed to feed from a single feed magazine as where the other fed from both sides of the feed lips. Supposedly the later gun was more reliable. Opinions vary. 0 -
Thanks for the help folks! 0 -
I have one of each. Please let me know if you need info.

I just bought a Volunteer/Commando Arms Thompson 45 ACP look-alike. I am trying to find out as much information as possible regarding quality and possible value/price. I appreciate whatever information I can get. Thank you.

I appreciate the information. But, would anyone know quality and value? I saw one model on a gun trading website (it was nickel plated on a few parts) and the price was $799.00. Can anyone add to this? Thanks.
