I have owned one and never will again. If you want to plink get a good .22. Mine had all sorts of troubles front sight fell off. Mags would not stay in. If you want a 9mm go for the Ruger PC 9 or find an old Marlin Camp 9. There is always the M1 carbine. My 2 cents

Thanks, that's the kind of info I wanted. It's not a bargain if it you can't depend on it.

I know several guys that have them and shoot them all the time. They seem to really like them. Gun tests magazine recently gave them high marks, rating them above the Ruger PC9 carbine. At less than half the price, they must have something going for them. Gun Test Magazine doesn't give out high ratings to guns that don't meet their standards. Try to find someone that has one and shoot their's before deciding to pass on them. The company has a lifetime warranty and they stand behind their product.

Gun Test mag made it a point to mention that this was the second time they tested the High Point. The first time, a couple of years ago, I think, they considered it junk.
cbxjeffIt's too late for me, save yourself.

Thanks, I respect Gun Test's opinions. I was hoping I'd hear more from owners. In my area I see these guns selling at stores and gun shows, I almost never see them traded in at the gun shops. I don't know if that means the owners are happy and keeping them or so frustrated that they're using them for paperweights at home. Thanks again.

We have sold several Hi Point's and for the most part every customer has been pleasantly surprised at the accuracy and reliabilty of these guns. For $159-$189.00 bucks how can you go wrong.

I have one of the Hi-Point 9mm carbines and have now put over 10k rounds thru it any nary any problems or glitshes other than the two squib loads that I reloaded. They weren't the guns fault. I have shot my reloads, commercial reloads and commercial new thru it and it seems to take all of them fine. Have not used any of the "Hot" machine gun loads in it and don't think I will.
The second admendment GUARANTEES the other nine and the Constitution!
