Federal 22 ammo - I need advice
I saw some Federal hollowpoint ammo in 550 round bulk boxes at Walmart the other day. I was planning on buying some for my 10-22, Marlin 37, and Ruger MkI. Is that inferrior quality ammo? The application is for turtles in the pond, coons that raid the garden, and copperheads wherever I find them.

Federal is as good as any others if your gun likes them. I have no trouble with them.

I've used the federal bulk pack with my 1022,works great. 0 -
I don't care if it is Federal, Remington, Winchester, or that crappy russian steel stuff; if it works well in your gun, that's the only factor. I have a Jennings .22 that feeds Remington Thunderbolts reliably and shoots accurately, but with CCI it will do neither. Try it out in your guns.

Works great in my Marlin 60. Can't beat the price. Killed a bunch of squirrels with it this past season. 0 -
I've been using the Federals for years in my 10-22, Marlin 39A, and Interarms 62A. I buy them from Wal Mart in the bulk boxes, and I shoot a LOT. I have never had a single failure. I'm a squirrel hunter, get most in the head or neck. They are fine in my guns. Give them a try. 0 -
Thanks guys. You have put my mind at ease. I had overheard someone "knocking" bulk-packed ammo sold at discount stores. The Federal 550 pack at Walmart fit that description. I'll buy a box and give them a try. 0 -
In my search for the perfect .22 ammo for my MKll a Walmart clerk said that it worked flawlessly in his 22/45. 0
