Depends - what is it going to be used for? If you're going to be doing a LOT of shooting with it, go with the .223. There is an overabundance of surplus ammo available for next to nothing if you do some shopping.

Model 700 because of ease of switching barrels if that becomes a necessity. Either one of the calibers is a great choice for accuracy. The 22-250 will extend you range a bit but the 223 will extend your pocketbook because of so much brass readily available and so many factory loads available at reduced cost. I personally think that the 22-250 is one of the great marvels of firearms!! It shoots flat, is mild recoil and is inheritly accurate!! Come to think of it the 223 fits just what I said but just won't reach out there quite like the 250!! GHD

I have a Remington Mdl 700 with a heavy barrel and would not trade it for a solid gold pizza!(ireally like pizza too!) Mine is a 223 and it shoots so well i may keep it and buy a 22-250 to sit beside it. i just won't get rid of that 223! If you have to choose between the two, I reckon both are good, and hard to choose between. My choice is the 223 because I have such good luck with that joker. If'n you get a 223, give me a holler on the e-mail and I'll send you a load recipe that works damn good.

Both cal. that you mention are good, but you didn't say what you were going to use it for.If for target shooting, then I would suggest the 223, if for hunting varmits out pass 200 yards then the 22-250.

I'd look at the 223 and the 22-250 and then get the 243, I know it's not a 22 but after having a 223 and a 220 swift I'll take the 243 any day. Just my two pennies to think about. Good luck with you new gun!

Ditto what Dave3 said. I've had all three; the .223, the 22-250, and the .243. I would go with the .243. But if I just "had" to have a 22 caliber, it would be the .223.

You won't go wrong with the .22-250! I have a couple of ARs and abolt gun in .243. The .22-250 just seems to be more fun and accurate hands down. Beach.
