Browning Double Automatic
All the barrels interchangeable without fitting? I have a steel receiver version and would like a second barrel.

Does anyone have any info on the Browning Double Automatic? A friend of mine said he has one for sale or trade. I won't see him until this weekend. He tried describing it to me. He said it is a semi-auto shotgun with only a two shell capacity that loads from the left side of the shotgun. He said it was used for skeet or trap. I did some looking in the book(s) as far as value goes, and he seems to be in the ballpark. Is it a shooter or a collector?Roy 0 -
It's a shooter. I have a few bird hunting buddies who like the 'Twelvette' which is the lighter aluminum receiver version. Two shots is plenty for a bird gun. I passed on a 20 gauge for $200 a few years back that I am still kicking myself over.Regards, tilapia 0 -
Concerning the comment on the al receiver: I've seen some collector interest if the color is 'right'. Apparently they were made in 3 or 4 colors, not sure. I had a steel receiver one several years ago, but sold it simply because of the safety. I thought it was real funky to operate. Otherwise it was a very good shotgun. 0
