Ruger MarkII problem
When I release the bolt, it only pushes the shell about 1/2 way onto the chamber. Sometimes if I'm not paying attention it will fire the cartridge when it is 1/4" exposed, causing the casing to burst (I do wear safety glasses).I cleaned it really good today and took it out to shoot it, and it still does it.It seems the shells are too big/tight for the chamber. I have tried a few different brands of ammo with the same results.Any ideas? Thanks, Chad

Send it back to Ruger. They are the best ones to fix it.Most likely they won't even charge you for the repair. They are good like that.Dr.Evil 0 -
Chad 1,How long have you been shooting the Ruger? How many rounds have you put thru it? 0 -
Listen to Evil....you might end up with a new pistol if you send it back to Ruger. I called them regarding a malfunction I was having with my 22/45 about a year ago and they sent me a complete bolt assembly instead of just the part free of charge. Best darned customer service experience I have ever seen. -smooth

Send it to Ruger before you fire it again. Same thing happened to a co-worker of mine. It did a goodly amount of damage to his gun. Ruger sent him a new one with an explanation that his gun's chamber was undersized. Odds are a reamer got worn down and not replaced before a few guns got out. 0 -
As already posted, DO NOT fire it again and send it to Ruger (call them first and make arrangements). They will take care of it.You could hurt someone if you fired it again in that condition. GD 0
