i wanted to know if the muzzel brake comes off its about two and a half inches long and looks to have a washer behind it

  No, I beleive that it is both pinned and welded or silver soldered to the barrel. You could get it off if you really wanted to, but to comply with ATF regs, it has to be "permanently" affixed in this manner....
