Need info on Sig Sauer 200 bolt action
I saw a pretty neat looking rifle today at a gun shop that caught my fancy. It was marked (not exacatly but as close as I can recall) J.P. Sauer & Sohn, SigArms, Tysons Corner , VA. Was a model 200, .243 caliber, has a detacable mag. Looks to be a short action (judging by the length of the ejection port), appears to be push feed, has the front swivel mounted on a barrel band. Had a nice one piece wood stock (not 2 piece like the 202 has), oil finish, Euro "hump style", 1" vented pad, and the most beautiful deep shiny blueing. Bolt looked chrome, very short throw, and smooth as butter, had a pus button tang safety, had mounts (looked leupold) but no rings. Also had open sights. Price was $995. Appeared unfired but not sure, did come with the box. Definatly gave my heart the "pitter-pats". If it had been a .257 or similar mid-size would most likely be in the safe now. (still might end up there...) I'm pretty ignorant of Sauer products... I know they were distributed by Colt in the 70's. I also know Sig is here in NH and has been since the early 90's so this probably pre-dates that. Is this a fair price? What other short action calibres were available? Stock was a bit too long, but I wouldn't mind cutting it if it were mine. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would plan to hunt it. I deer hunt in the northeast, sometimes over fields (100-300 yd shots) and sometimes in the woods. I do have a Browning BLR .308 with a receiver sight I use in the woods or crappy weather. Thanks guys...

I have a new hard case made in Italy for the Sauer 200 rifle. Does anyone have any idea what it is worth? Thanks,

bidedac - I own a Sauer 200 and I am looking for a case. Not sure how much it's worth but I would take a look at it and maybe we can come up with a price. Thanks
