they are nice the way they are. Unless you go for titanium bolts and firing pins etc. But for functionality, put your money in a nice halo sight and mount. Buy some 69 and 75 grain bullets, which will group best if you have the 1:7 twist barrel and then.....have fun.

An adjustable trigger and a free floating handguard. After two weeks when you find the 8 1/4# outfit is too heavy to carry around, then go for a Bushmaster Dissipator M4 barrel assembly or upper.

A Harris Bi-pod is a must and a springfield armory scope on it would be nice as well.

Ditto on the lighter barrel. The Gov't contour is much more than adequate for anything that you might want to do with that sort of rifle. If you are going to get seriously into match shooting, then you'll probably be changing the barrel to a heavy profiled Douglass, Hart or Kreiger. I carry my AR much, much more than I shoot it and beleive me you will notice the difference at the end of the day with the standard barrel. Just my humble opinion, hope that it helps...

Andy, Just got mine back From Wilson. It looks GREAT!!! Can't tell the rifle from a pre-ban until you get really close and look. I haven't shot mine yet, but I can tell you that the fitting and refinishing are first class. BTW mine was out there for 4 weeks and total cost including UPS both ways was just under $100. I couldn't be happier and will be sending another by the end of this month.

What are you going to use the gun for? Unless you just want to put a bunch of junk on it to make it look pretty, you need to specify its purpose of use. If you use it for just plinking around, I wouldn't change anything. If your a cop or going to use it as a personal defense weapon that you will be manuvering in your home you may want to install a tactical flashlight. If you are going to use it for target competition you should probably ask your fellow competitors in the same class what you should do. If your going to use it for hunting, you may want to put a scope on it. If your going to use it for prairy dog hunting you may want to put a bipod and a scope on it.Basically what I'm saying is, until you get used to it and learn to shoot proficiently you wont really know what its limitations are and therefore you won't know what you need. So don't change anything on it or add anything to it yet.
