Not a Purdy, but top drawer. 0 -
1. W.W. Greener has always been and still is in Birmingham, not London.2. Their reputation was built on "medium-priced firearms of sound workmanship". The name will forever be associated with the "Greener crossbolt" mechanism.3. On a British double gun, barrel condition is *THE* most important component of value, because replacement barrels are prohibitively expensive, *IF* they can even be found. If the bore of the barrel is over proof (measured on the inside and 9 inches from the breech) or if the barrels are too thin (measured 9 inches from the muzzle)-- then it becomes a wall hanger.4. W.W. Greener has produced over 150 different models and grades of firearms and to know exactly what you have, value and condition requires expert evaluation. I don't know where you are but the names that keep croping up on British doubles are John F. Rowe--Enid, OK ---- Paul Hodgins--Logan, UT ---- Les Paul--Ontario, Canada.Regards [This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 03-26-2002).] 0 -
very collectable, it could be worth some serious money. 0
