Browning FN shotgun recoil reducer help?

I purchased one of these devices: Browning FN shotgun recoil reducer. Want to install it on my old 870 for trap backup. I'm kind of handy and wondered if anybody had any advice or tips they had learned installing or using one of these devices? Or even point me in the right direction. Thanks in Advance
