Shipping my M1891 Mauser?

I have an M1891 Mauser rifle, that I would like to ship-and, I'd like to know if there are any legal problems with an individual shipping the gun out of the State of California to another individual(Non FFL)or, if not?What is the specific rules for shipping Curios and Relics legally, out of State?Lastly, does my M1891 Mauser qualify as a Curio or a Relic?

  I don't know if California allows shipping guns OUT of the state.However, your Mauser is a C&R IF it is substantially as issued; i.e., it is not a C&R if incomplete or sporterized or converted to another caliber.Federal law allows you to ship it to an individual in any state ONLY IF it was made prior to 1899, and I haven't a clue how you can establish this as fact. BATF doesn't mean the model number, they mean when it was actually manufactured. If you can't establish that, then it can only be shipped to a FFL or C&R licensee outside of your state.Neal
