What info is needed to determine the value and date on an old pistol and also how can I check to see if it is a reproduction 0 -
It sounds like you may have what was commonly called a "DUCKFOOT". This gun had three barrels which were loaded separately but all fired at the same time from one percussion cap or flintlock charge. It's most touted use was as a last-ditch defense weapon for mutinies on ships. Captain Bligh from the HMS Bounty should have carried several of them stashed all over his body. A really old one could be quite valuable; take it to a gun show or dealer who specializes in antique weapons and let them look at it. If it looks new and is a bright-colored brass piece with three barrels which screw in it is probably a repro with a value of less than $125.00 at a guess. Hope this helps you. Peace.......
