I have a colt colteer semi auto 22 that I want to reblue cheap. Is the brownells blueing stuff any good or a waste of $? I have heard about this cold blue stuff too. What is the best for less?

Brownell's Oxpho-blue is a good product. They claim that you really don't have to polish or degrease the metal before using it, but I have found that you will obtain better results if you do both. It is very durable for a cold blue, and easy to touch up when it wears thin. 0 -

Der Gebirgsjager got it right. Oxpho blue is the best cold blue I have used and I think I have tried them all over the last 40 years or so. 0 -
A suggestion--when using any cold blue product, heat the metal with a hair dryer just before application. Really improves the appearance. 0
