I have purchased a Stevens 87M training rifle 22 cal semi auto. .I would like to know about what its worth, about when it was made , which service it was made for. It is designed afterthe M I garand. Execlent condition. Thanks

  Unknown when it was made. I was able to locate a short listing in one of my reference books (2002 Standard Catalog of Firearms) which lists a value of $375 for good condition up to $600 for excellent condition. If it means anything the Stevens model "87" was made from 1938 till 1948 under the Springfield (Stevens ) anme and was then designated as "Stevens" after 1948. It was made in a variety of 87 designations during that time frame. Hope that helps a little.
