does anyone know of a link where i can go and find pointers for proper gun care and cleaning?

I know that this is remedial, but what is the best way to get the grease off of a gun, and out of the barrel?[?] Should anything be done to the wood?

Here is a possibility for you: http://www.bbsindustries.com/technical.html I use Butch's regularly and it is great stuff. Also, the shooting mags usually publish an article about once a year on gun cleaning, and there are sections in a number of books that also cover proper cleaning.
