I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag. I have a sling on mine. Mine came with sling studs. I bought a pair of Weaver sling swivels and an unissued green Garand sling at a gun show for a total of about $10. It's nothing fancy but it does the job. Cabelas is rather overpriced but they have one heck of a selection. If you want something fancy then go ahead and go to Cabelas and spend the money. If you just want something that will fill your need with a sling, go ahead and go cheap like I did. A good military surplus store should have a Garand sling handy. By the way, what Cabelas are you close to?[This message has been edited by idsman75 (edited 03-18-2002).]

Uncle Mikes has sling stud & swivel kits available for most models of shotgun. If your a little handy with a drill and can follow there instructions you can do it yourself.

Another option is a "shotgun sling" which has loops for around the barrel/forearm and pistol grip. This is obviously a non-permament solution, but should suit you until you decide to drill.

As far as Cabela's being pricey, I will note that I often spend less at Cabela's for items than the manufacturer charges direct. And they do have some selection. There are some shot gun slings with a boot for the stock and loop for the foreend that require no drilling, but are not very permanant. Might suit your needs though.Spent some time in Yankton back in the 70's at the North American Falconry Assn. field meets around Thanksgiving. Nice little town, but it sure can be cold that time of year!
