Need help identifying a rifle
I have an old bolt-action 30-30 rifle that has "STEVENS MODEL 325" and "Savage Arms Corporation" stamped on the receiver. I don't have an owner's manual for this gun, nor does it appear that I can order one from the Savage Arms website. I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about this gun? Such as, is "Stevens" the brand, or is "Savage Arms" the brand and "Stevens" is just part of the model #? Any info would be appreciated.

I came across a rifle for $25 so I couldn't pass it up. I would like to refinish it however I must get more info on it. The side of the borrow reads 1914, on top it say 30-06 then some Chinese/Japanese letters that read 99. So I'm assuming it's a Japanese Type 99 rifle, however after searching the internet I'm unable to find these rifles of a .30-06 calibor they are all 7.7. So anyone have any ideas? 0 -
You won't see one on the manufacturer web site since the Stevens 325 was made from 1947 - 1950. J. Stevens Arms of Chicopee Falls Mass, became a division of Savage quite a while back and you'll encounter a lot of firearms with both names. This rifle is pretty much identical to the Savage 340 ut I don't know how interchagable parts are. Value in the $200 range - of course, it could be more or less. Regards, tilapia 0 -
Thank you for the information.
