    50 years old OR specifically listed. Many firearms that are less than 50 years old are on the C&R list.

    This is true. 50 is a general rule for commercial handguns. There are 2 other qualifying items. Those that are certified as museum pieces, and those considered to derive monetary value from the fact that they are novel, rare, bizarre, or because of their association with some historical figure, period or event. This does not include replicas or collector's items whose value would be substantially less if available through commercial channels. Just about all commemeratives would fit this criteria.
