Lone Eagle Single Shot Pistols-Any Good?
In the market for a pistol to hunt with. Anybody out there have and like the Lone Eagle (by Magnum Research)? What is good and bad about these guns? How is the trigger on these guns? Who can fix it if it isn't good?

I have a Lone Eagle in 7mm-08. I must admit the trigger is creepy. I have polished the stricker rod and sear to smooth the action. The sear engagement is just too great. I overcome this by pointing it in a safe direction, assure the safety is engaged, and pull the trigger until the travel is taken up to the mechanical stop. Then the release is respectible. The unit outshoots my abilities with a short barrelled handcannon. As I have mentioned before, please concider the Competitor pistol from Competitor Manufacturing. They make a wonderful cannon breach pistol chambering it in over 100 cartriges. The action is interchangable, extractors interchange, the safety is in the breach cap, and they cock on openning the action, and have composite wood stocks available that can be easily shaped to the shooter's grip. Check out them at competitor-pistol.com. As you might be able to tell I will own one of these in the near future. 0 -
I have one in 7mmBR. It is a nice gun & very accurate. It does have some trigger over travel but that can be easily fixed. Good gun for metalic Sil. shooting. RG 0 -
KX 500, Get yourself an XP-100 in 7mmBR, you can't go wrong!! You can fix the trigger(if you need too) and the accuracy will be second to none!! Have one custom with Match barrel that I shoot and a factory original with 14 and 1/2 inch barrel that the 13 yr. old daughter shoots. Devastating on varmints and hell on deer or coyotes!!! 0 -
i have had one of these in the shop for repair, easy to adjust if you know how but very touchy. would not be my first choice for a match or hunting gun. go with an xp. 0
